Bronte Country Estate has been at the heart of my family for five generations. Even the history of the peninsula holds an element of romance, as the name ‘Bronte’ was given by a British Admiral as a tribute to his love. It is a timeless setting in which to celebrate a wedding, and we look forward to helping you create the first chapter of your own history together.

VENUE INFORMATION

Bronte Country Estate offers 5-Star luxury accommodation, nestled on the headland of historic Bronte peninsula amid expansive gardens. It is 25 minutes drive from the seaport city of Nelson, New Zealand.

The gardens at Bronte consist of  two acres of formal gardens and an acre of parkland.  Garden paths meander beneath old established trees, which provide shelter for many azaleas, rhododendrons and camellias. There are over 120 varieties of roses; the sight and scent of so many roses is glorious. Around each corner are expansive views of the estuary and mountains beyond. One word describes this garden setting for formal functions and weddings: magical.

Ceremony

From small intimate weddings to large family gatherings, Bronte Country Estate will help to design your unique wedding. You can choose from many picturesque settings to exchange your vows; the gardens, the sweeping verandah or by the waters edge.  The perfect way to decide on your setting is by taking an on-site tour of the estate, which we are happy to arrange.

Reception

Bronte Country Estate has a silk-lined marquee for wedding receptions, which is sited on the peninsula headland to take full advantage of the stunning estuary views. Our self-contained luxury villa, Te Koi, is perfect for smaller wedding parties: it is situated at the very end of the headland for total privacy.

WEDDING SERVICES

Catering

Bronte is privileged to be associated with John Appleman, gourmet caterer, who has designed three menu options to choose from (a catering marquee is included in our wedding packages). Te Koi is our self contained shoreline villa with full kitchen facilities, ideal if you are catering for smaller numbers of guests.

Hair/Make Up

We can assist with arranging on-site preparations for the bridal party, or just five minutes drive from Bronte Country Estate is the thriving village of Mapua, where you will find professional hair & beauty services.

Flowers

At certain times of the year, the flowers in the Estate gardens are spectacular providing a live floral backdrop for your wedding.  For finishing touches and designer floral arrangements, we can recommend florists if you are coming from out of Nelson.

Celebrants

The right celebrant can make all the difference. For recommended celebrants to suit your preferred style of ceremony, please contact us to discuss your ideas.

Photography

Bronte Country Estate provides many wonderful photographic options to capture your special day. The waterfront location, garden pergolas, boutique vineyard, orchard and summerhouse all provide inspiration for your photographer. If you haven’t selected your photographer, we can give you a recommended list.

Transport

For the bridal party, or the guests, we are happy to assist and advise on transport arrangements. Helicopters can land at Bronte Country Estate should you have a flight in mind…

ACCOMMODATION

Bronte Country Estate provides 5-Star shoreline accommodation for up to 12 people in 5 rooms. It is a short stroll through the estate gardens to the luxuriously appointed suites and villas resting at the waters edge, with panoramic views of Mapua Inlet and beyond. Te Koi, the exclusive self-contained villa situated on the headland of the peninsula, is the ultimate in privacy and luxury. All waterfront suites have private access, so the bridal party can arrive and depart discreetly while preparations continue in the marquee.

Suites (2)

Relax right near the shoreline in the Hopkirk and Lady Barkly Suites. The suites feature a king bed (one suite with a king/twin), sitting area, kitchenette with microwave, dressing room and ensuite with shower over spa bath and a private outdoor area to unwind near the waters edge.

Villas (2)

The spacious Lady Hamilton and Stafford Villas have been designed to make the most of the stunning water views.

The villas each have a king bedroom (Stafford has a King/Twin), sitting room, kitchenette with microwave, dressing room, ensuite with double spa bath and separate shower. The private outdoor areas are perfect for relaxing or enjoying an al fresco start to your evening.

 

Te Koi

Te Koi is the ultimate in luxury self-contained accommodation, with breathtaking views across the inlet, The villa features 2 bedrooms (one king with ensuite and walk-in robe, one king/twin with separate bathroom and separate toilet), full kitchen, and spacious lounge and dining areas with the latest in home entertainment. This is privacy, comfort and serenity of the highest level.  There are other accommodation options on Bronte Peninsula and in the surrounding areas. We can provide contacts for additional accommodation should it be required.

TRANSFERS/LOCATION

Bronte Country Estate is 25 minutes drive from Nelson airport, off the Coastal Highway as you head towards Motueka/Golden Bay. The estate is over 65 acres situated at the end of the peninsula, offering a private location with spectacular views.  We are able to assist with transfers to and from the venue for your wedding.
