The Nelson Arts Festival 2009
The Nelson Arts Festival has a proud tradition of bringing the best and most innovative theatre, music, dance, cabaret and writers to Nelson. The Nelson Arts Festival and Sealord Summer Festival are Nelson City Council run events aimed at the wider community on a not for profit basis.
The fourteenth Nelson Arts Festival runs from 16 to 27 October 2008 and offers both locals and visitors an exciting and diverse programme of arts events and activities. It opens with the Port Nelson Masked Parade and More FM Carnivale and continues over ten days with theatre, dance, comedy, music, literary lunching, sculpture, workshops, openings and closings….a buzz on the streets leaves no-one in doubt that Nelson is sashaying into spring and celebrating its creative soul.
