Our new 2012 wine list is a proving to be very popular with our guests at Bronte so far this season. Daniel has selection a top regional selection for guests to enjoy in their room with six bottles in the wine rack and a bottle of Waimea Sauvignon blanc in the fridge ready to drink on guests arrival. This year we have added a premium Neudorf Moutere range to cater for the more expensive tastes buds. The list is as follows;
Waimea Estate Sauvignon Blanc $20
Zesty and racy, this lovely example of Nelson Sauvignon has aromas of gooseberries, green apple and citrus combined with a flinty, mineral complexity. It is balanced by a full and textured palate, giving the wine depth and concentration. It makes a perfect accompaniment to fine New Zealand seafood.
Orinoco Nelson Riesling $25
Harvested at just 19 brix with a pH of 3.0, the fruit had fantastic flavours and a crisp acidity. Ferment took 4-5 weeks at cool temperatures, and was stopped with residual sugar at 23g/L. The finished product has layers of delicate aromas, an inviting sweetness finished off with a refreshing acidity.
Orinoco Nelson Piont Gris $25
A rich and rewarding wine with bursting with aromas and flavours of Stonefruit, Peaches, Pears, Vanilla and Butterscotch. Fermented under controlled cool temperatures in stainless steel with regular lees stirring the resulting wine has delicious aromas, a rich and weighty palate complemented by a little residual sugar which gives the flavours a lift and encourages the drinker to come back for more.
Neudorf Chardonnay $110
Succulent; a whorl of flavours race around the palate before settling down to a persistent, refined finish …….which carries through and through and through. A mouth-watering blend of mineral characters, apple and lemon, with subtle bran and roasted nuts
Rimu Grove Bronte Pinot Noir $30
Nelson Tasman’s cool maritime climate is perfect for growing Pinot Noir. This wine is reflective of the climate and terrain. Sweet ripe red fruit aromas (blackberries and bing cherries) showing hints of earth and spice. Generous sweet ripe fruit flavours with juicy acidity and fine-grained tannins that linger on the palate.
Orinoco Nelson Syrah $45
Beautiful ripe Syrah grapes were handpicked and gently guided through the evolution from grape to wine. Wild yeast fermented and matured in French Oak barrels for 12 months, this wine is full of concentrated and complex aromas which will continue to develop over the next 5+ years.
Neudorf Moutere Pinot Noir $110
Wonderfully deep nose of visceral, dried blood notes with a hint of licorice and spice, larger red and black fruits and very fine tannins. The wine flows across the palate with ease towards a refined and elegant finish
Overall impression is of a full yet sleek wine of great structure and integration.
Vintage 2010 was a great one for New Zealand Pinot Noir and this Neudorf wine will not disappoint.
