The Saturday market in Montgomery Square is another way to experience the creativity of Nelson’s community. Rainbow will open this Saturday 4th of July for the 2009 season. They have a good 50 cm of snow around the base area thanks to their tireless team of snow makers who work through the cold and dark hours to bring everyone snow. The intermediate platter and learners areas will be operating. There is not enough cover to open the upper field at this stage, however the weather pattern for the next week is looking productive with plenty of natural snow on the way so fingers crossed.
Access Road: 17km from State Highway 63 turnoff. Chains must be fitted or carried by all vehicles at all times from base car park. Shuttle service runs multiple trips daily from base car park.

Discover, Learn – Remember – April 25 and 26 2009 is ‘Lest we Forget’ at Founders Heritage Park, Nelson from 9.30 to 5 daily – $2 a head entry.
Lest we Forget – from the minute you walk through the gates you will be immersed in wartime history from 2 world wars – read local peoples war stories land girls to POW’s, Home Guard to Soldiers in the ‘Walls of Remembrance Display’. Walk through a reconstructed WW1 Comand Post Trench, watch battle re-enactments and evacuee children waving goodbye to their familes. Music, drama, displays – and more. Also live Theatre – ‘Paschendaele’ 7pm April 23 and 24 and 2pm and 7pm over the Lest we Forget event. $10 adult for Theatre. By Dramatic Theatre Development Trust.
