Today was made up of so many glorious firsts. We spent the morning driving several thousand feet further up the Plateau to reach Lakes Manasarovar and Rakshastal, and the area that is the source of four of Asia’s major rivers.

Trent Garnham from Helipro Nelson flew into Bronte Country Estate on Monday and took Daniel for a short scenic flight around the Tasman Bay area for 40 minutes. A fabulous Autumn day in Nelson with temperatures in the mid 20′s made having the side doors off the helicopter very exciting.

Waimea Inlet is the largest estuary in the South Island. Rich in food resources it was coveted by Maori; 33 archaeological sites are known from its shores. Despite its modification, the estuary is considered to be of outstanding biological importance; the abundance of food attracts large numbers of fish; 50 species of wading birds have been recorded and there are rare plants and a carabid beetle found only at Tahunanui Beach.
There are a number of great viewing points of the wading birds in the estuary, but Bronte Peninsular would have to be one of the best. You don’t even have to leave the comfort of your luxury waterfront suite or villa to view these birds as they feed in front of your accommodation.

Daniel at Trade Day 2009
100 personnel from 30 Inbound Tour Operators attended the IBO Trade Day on Thursday 21st May. This year there are 26 Nelson and Marlborough Operators exhibiting (15 from Nelson Tasman). A conference market function on the 20th May has attracted registrations from 62 corporate/conference organiser buyers.
A series of spectacular aerial photographs take by helicopter over the historic peninsula in Tasman Bay.
The Nelson region being one of the oldest populated areas in New Zealand showcases many mature exotic trees – some over 100 years old from around the world. The great fall weather experienced in the Nelson area allows the autumn colours to be captured to its full extent until the colder and more unsettled weather of June arrives.

Homestead Breakfast Buffet
Staying in bed and breakfast properties can enhance your enjoyment of New Zealand. Relax, enjoy your host’s travel suggestions, linger over breakfast, introduce yourself to fellow travellers, and make new friends.
Discover the sheer bliss of Bronte’s shoreline suites and villas, where the soft sea breeze and scented gardens work their gentle magic after a day’s adventures in the region. From the private verandas and patios, take in stunning views over the water to distant hills; the ebb and flow of the tide sets the rhythm for white herons, spoonbills, and other estuarine birds stalking gracefully across the inlet.
Enjoy sumptuous breakfasts served on the veranda in warmer months or in the formal dining room with its polished wooden floors and open fire on cooler mornings.
The best fruit season in over a decade has just begun with the first pick of Cox’s Orange for the UK market. Daniel takes pride in picking fresh new season fruit for you to enjoy in your room whilst staying at Bronte Country Estate.
